About the State : Karnataka, known as the 'Land of Sandalwood and Coffee' is the 8th largest state in India by area and 9th largest by population. The state has three major   geographical zones, the Coastal region of Karavali, the Hilly Malnad region comprising the Western Ghats (Sahyadri) and the Bayaluseeme region comprising the plains of Deccan Plateau. major rivers here are Kaveri, Tungabhadra, Krishna, Sharavati. The Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka. Kannada is the state language.
