Andaman Nicobar National Parks

1. Campbell Bay National Park is situated on the island of Great Nicobar which is the biggest of the Nicobar Islands in the eastern Indian Ocean and about 190 kilometers towards the north of Sumatra. It was gazetted as a National Park in 1992. It is known for its tropical evergreen forests, tree fern, ground orchids. Among fauna Crab eating Macaque, Giant Robber Crab, Megopode, Nicobar Pigeon etc are well known.

 2. Galathea National Park comprises of a total are of 110 sq km located in the island of Great Nicobar in the Nicobar islands, which lie in the eastern Indian Ocean. It got the status of National Park in 1992. A lot of unique flora and fauna are found in the park. The vegetation consists largely of tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests. Animal species include  Giant Robber Crab, Megopode, Nicobar Pigeon.
3. Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park (prev: Wandur National Park) was established in 1983. It is situated at Wandur, 29 kms from Port Blair. It comprises of around 12 islands most of which are densely forested. These island beaches are great nestling place for Leatherback, Hawksbill, Olive Ridley and Green turtles. Several hundred Estuarine Crocodiles are found here. Among all the islands, Jollybuoy, Redskin and Mangrove are the famous ones.
4. Mount Harriet National Park was established in 1979 and is spread over 46.62 sq.kms. Situated some 20 kms from Port Blair, this National park is known for pristine tropical evergreen forests and for some of the endemic reptiles and amphibians.The primary fauna also comprises of Andaman wild pig. January to March is the best time to visit.  
5. North Button Island National Park was set up in 1979 and covers an area of 44 sq km. It is situated 60 kms from the long island town and 200 kms from Port Blair, the capital of island. The fauna found here are Dugong, Dolphin, Water Monitor Lizards etc. December to March is the time you should choose to visit. 
6. Saddle Peak National Park started in the year 1979, covers an area of 33 sq km. The nearest town is Diglipur at a distance of 5km. Port Blair is 200 kms. It is covered by luxuriant and thick tropical rain forests. The fauna includes andaman wild pig, Water Monitor Lizards, salt water crocodiles. Andaman hill mynah and imperial pigeon are the important birds found. Plan to visit the park during November to March.
7. South Button Island National Park started in the year 1977 and covers an area of 2 sq km. Nearest town is Long island and the nearest airport is Port Blair at about 200 kms. The fauna consists of Dugong, Dolphin, Water Monitor Lizards. Plan to visit the park during December to April.
